Pedal Trolley Tours

Introducing the newest addition to Houghton, MI's vibrant downtown scene: the Keweenaw Pedal Trolley tour! Embark on a unique ride along the Houghton waterfront aboard a specially crafted trolley propelled by pedal power. Our route takes you along the Houghton waterfront trail for approximately 1.5 hours with views of the Portage canal and historic architecture lining the waterfront. If you choose, hear about local mining and waterway history, or just enjoy a leisurely pedal with friends while listening to your favorite tunes.

How it Works

The pedal trolley can accommodate up to 12 people, but we need a minimum of 6 people in order for the fun to work. It has comfortable seats and is very easy to pedal. It also has an electric assist motor for when we encounter a hill, or need a little extra power.

Book by the seat or reserve the whole trolley for your group. We need at least 6 people for each tour.

At checkout let us know if you prefer a "history tour" including local copper mining and maritime history, or if you would rather have a leisurely ride socializing and listening to music.

-Clothing and footwear appropriate for riding a bike.

-Refreshments (Iced Tea, water, beer, wine, seltzer, pop, etc..) NO GLASS PLEASE

-Your favorite playlist (you can connect to our Bluetooth speakers)

-Waivers/rules forms need to be digitally signed by all members of your party. The person who books your tour will send you a link to the form.

ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOL FOR THOSE UNDER 21. SO HAVE YOUR ID READY.

Mixer Tour

Sunday - Thursday: Adults (18+) $30/person

Young people (under 18) $20/person

Friday - Saturday: Adults (18+) $33/person

Young people (under 18) $23/

Private Tour

Reserve the entire trolley for you group for $300.

This ends up being $25/person for 12 people.

Check Availability / Book

Call (906) 281-1556 or book online

Click or tap "Book Now" anywhere on this site and select "Keweenaw Pedal Trolley". A calendar will appear where you can check availability. Select your date and time and fill in the booking and payment fields.

Check Email for Confirmation / Waiver

Once booked you will receive a confirmation email that contains a waiver/rules attachment. Everyone in your party MUST read and sign this waiver, so please forward to everyone in your group. Have everyone brong their waivers with them on the day of your tour.

Meet at Tour Pickup Location

Arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled tour at the City Waterfront Pier next to the Houghton Library (see map below). The driver will check each person's signed waiver along with photo ID's. Each rider 21 and older can bring up to 36 oz (3 cans) of their favorite beer, seltzer, cider, wine, iced tea, pop (soda), water, etc...
